Flooding concerns for councillors following downpour

A number of councillors expressed their concerns about flooding that occurred on Monday after the first heavy shower of rain of the winter. Fine Gael councillor Johnny O’Malley told the meeting: “I’m very concerned about the flooding in Newport today. There was a lot of money spent there recently and it has flooded again.
